Snack Review- Kellogg’s Rice Krispies

Snack Name: Kellogg’s Rice Krispies (29g serving)

Ingredients/Nutrition:

A 29g Kellogg’s Rice Krispies bar contains 84kcal. It is high in sugar. Fat levels and sodium levels are acceptable. Out of the ingredients, the only one that stands out is the 37,5% rice pops, however this doesn’t convert into adequate dietary fibre. The Kellogg’s Rice Krispies bar, unfortunately, is not the healthiest cereal bar on the market. I/N rating of 2/5

Taste:

The Rice Krispies bar is no doubt tasty. The rice pops mixed with marshmallows give you a crunchy and chewy texture with a hint of sweetness. It also replicates that Rice Krispies cereal taste, which is a hit with almost all kids. Taste rating 5/5

Price/Variety:

The price averages R6.00 per a cereal bar. The only other comparable bar in the family is the Coco pops cereal bar. Therefore, it gets an average P/V score of 3/5

Overall score and thoughts:

The Kellogg’s Rice Krispies cereal bar is a tasty lunch box treat, however its not the healthiest option. The same goes for the Coco pops cereal bar which has similar nutritional values. Therefore, we recommend that it be used as a treat once a week. There are more healthier alternatives on the market. Kids love it though! It won’t be left in the lunch box at the end of the day.

Final Tastlys Rating: 3/5

Look out for the Rice Krispies and Coco pops cereal bars in our kids snack boxes.
